20W laser with rotary attachement for cylinderical objects
First print
I added air assist to blow away the debrit the laser causes durring its
work.
I 3D printed a mount using a 3D printers drilled out a .4mm nozzle to
1/16 " to blow away the debrit. I used 1/16" balsa wood to make a gasket
to prevent air leaks. It uses M3-16 screws and nuts to hold it together.
I added a guide for the 1/4" air tubing to keep it out of the way when
burning.
1/4" air tubing is more common to use when connecting to a full size air
compressor. It is easy to add where my CNC uses the same tubing.
etching onto acrylic
40W laser upgrade
First sample burn
Etched the sizes onto my set of hex drivers
The same file with the same settings 40W vs 20W.
I don't know why the leaves were not filled in but the rest is much
deeper and darker.
Etching slate coasters then coveriong in a clear coat.
Burning into stainless steel
I am in process of milling an aluminum slider to give much more
adjustment than the stock one.
I will anodise it when completed.
I was not satisfied with the first one and made a second one that took
many hours but is complete.
I did learn a lot from the first try and used what I learned for the
second one.
